Introduction
Well you will all no doubt
be wondering who Phil 'B' is except maybe if you got here from
Interactive Songs .
I am the same guy that runs
both sites and also the guy people send their words to .
My real name is Philip M Betts
and some people know me as Philby . I have lived, worked
and "played" in the beautiful area of Norfolk
and East Anglia all of my life and have been a local
entertainer for the past 12 years or so. I love all
kinds of music but cant seem to shake this "pet
hate " I have for the latest boy and girl band
trend (although I favour them slightly better if they
are performing "original material"). To me,
a lot of today's music sounds so smooth and perfected
that I call it "Plastic Music" performed by
"Plastic artistes" that are molded and shaped
into whatever is flavour of the month for the P R and
record companies. (I also put a lot of Hip Hop, Garage,
Rave, Dance and Rap into this category ! Don't get me
wrong though I can still pick out a good song or band
that stands out from the rest, whatever so called musical
category its in.

Performance
I perform mainly modern and traditional
Country music and 50's 60's and 70's Rock 'N' Roll but
also do specials like "Neil Diamond and "Buddy
Holly" My favourite all time band are "The
Eagles" and I grew up with "The Beatles and
Stones" music and I am rather partial to modern
country bands like "The Mavericks and solo female
artists like Martina Mcbride , Faith Hill and Shania
Twain but I also like classic and legendary bands like
"Queen and "Led Zeppelin! I could go on forever
as I am sure many of you could. But to me music is just
music and should not be branded into genres or categories
except for referencing purposes. I also write my own
stuff but like all writers, get mental blocks. So for
those times when I "cant get no Inspiration"
I created the Interactive Songs web site which I hope
benefits everyone! When I am not involved in some music
project or other I spend my time watching, helping and
generally bringing up my children....because they are
my future!
